Hello

My name is Susan, and just a few weeks ago I posted my search info on your site. My posting was as follows:

My daugter, adopted name Deborah, was born on December 15, 1990 at Centra State Medical Center in Freehold NJ. She was adopted to a family somewhere in the NJ/PA area who also had an older adopted son named David. She was adopted through the Childrens Home Society of NJ in Trenton, NJ. She played the violin as a child, at least up until age 5 - and played at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia during the Suzuki play-in in 1995. She has blonde hair and blue eyes.

This past Friday night, January 16 at about 10 pm, I received an email from my daughter Deborah telling me that she was my daughter. We immediately got in contact with each other.

We have been in touch ALL weekend, via telephone, texting, facebook, etc. It is amazing how much she is like me, and looks like my lil clone! She is an amazing girl that was raised by an amazing family, and I thank God for that.

We are both interested in persuing a relationship, and I have already booked my first trip up to Pittsburgh to visit her in a few weeks so that we can spend the weekend getting to know each other and starting to build the relationship that I have always dreamed of….

Thank you for this site! We may have never found each other if not for the ability to post this listing!

I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful site this is. I stumbled upon it by accident while researching info on my biological son. I thought, what’s the worse that could happen? I input what little info I had, and within 48 hours an angel named Marge contacted me with all the info I needed to make contact with my son. We have since then exchanged emails and texts. As a favor I did a seach for my good friend, but came up to a roadblock with a single census report. Posted the subject and wife name and location in 1900. Within a day, I had the answer that broke through to about 3-5 more generations, and was able to tell my friend that he had just missed a family reunion in VA of relatives of which he had know knowledge. I have put my friend and responder together to fill in their pieces of the tree.

My husband was searching his name online last November 2007 to found a search for his father with the same name. After replying to this query posted December 2005 and several phone call to family member. We confirm that was a younger brother. It amazing how after a 2 year old post, we were able to connect. My husband brother was able to meet his father and one sister for the first time and has keep contact with my husband. Now we are planning to meet soon .

Got the maiden name of my grandmother, her DOB and where and when she passed away. Also found out that her father was born in Indiana and that her mother was born in Missouri.

I registered on Adoption Registry Connect, May 19, 2008, with an interest in finding out information about my birth-parents. I never in a million years would've thought I would get any type of response. When I first registered, I gave very vague information. I wrote my birthdate, where I was born, what my last name was and I had also written that my birth mother knitted me a very special gift when I was born. I've had a wonderful life, with 2 parents whom I adore as if they were actually my real parents, and also 2 brothers and a sister. So the reason I wanted to find any info was actually for health reasons, now that I have a daughter of my own.

Anyway...Aug 7, 2008, I came home to find a response to my registry in my inbox. My heart rate started racing, I got a huge smile on my face and thought, oh my god, is this real? I clicked on it and the first line from this person says, "I think I know who your birth mom is".

I almost died. Reading on, she writes that her mom and my birth mom, became friends at a home for un-wed mothers. Through the years they've kept in touch and after talking with her mom said yes....she had a baby girl April 29th at Boothe Memorial Hospital. She later emailed back and said to me...I just talked with your birth-mother after getting her number from my mom and she said she knitted you a pink baby blanket with white trim.

I nearly fell out of my seat. She described the exact baby blanket I have kept so dear to my heart for all of these years.

This girl that originally had emailed me was on your website trying to find her sister, the baby her mom had given up for adoption the same time I was born, and my registry caught her attention.

Well, after a few more emails, they decided to plan a picnic where they would all meet, (they lived within 2 hours of each other). I happened to live opposite sides of the country, so I said I would call, so we could speak for the very first time.

On the day of the picnic, I called and Kathy was there and it took her a few minutes to compose herself to actually get to the phone. There was a lot of crying and when we first started speaking, I broke down. She is an amazing person to talk with. We talked for over an hour. And since then we talk at least once a week, always for over an hour, and we talk about everything.

We are planning on actually meeting in person, in February 2009, when my husband and I fly up to New York.

I never thought in my entire life it would've been that easy to find my birth mother. She literally "fell" into my "inbox", and I'm so grateful to have registered on your website, and to have had Barbara actually looking on your site that one night.

This experience has literally changed my life. Thankyou!

I used 3 or 4 different websites trying to find my grandson that was adopted out at birth. In February of 2008 I received an email from my grandson, saying, "I think your search is over gramma." I just about fainted. It was 4:30 in the morning and I just wanted to jump up and run outside to tell all my friends in Arizona. When my husband woke he kind of burst my bubble, saying, " It could be a hoax" I thought, Oh no. But when my grandson emailed me pictures I knew it was him. He looks just like his biological Mother. I am enclosing a picture we took when he came to the state of Washington for a visit. He is coming again for Thanksgiving. It is such a thankful year and we will have all of our kids and grandkids here for the great event. Thank you so much for putting my blog out there for him to see.

My grandson's name now is Benjamin Michael. The adoptive parents did not know of his birth name Michael George. He also made me a great grandmother March 2nd 2008. A little girl Trista Anne. She has the same middle name as her grandmother Dana.

In July 2007 I posted a query on CousinConnect seeking information on the
family of my great-great grandparents John and Mary (O'Donnell) Boyle of
Meenatottan, Dungloe, Co. Donegal. They had 8 known children,
5 boys and 3 girls, born between 1868 and 1879. Of the 5 boys, there were
Constantine and two sets of twins--Patrick and Denis, and James and Neal.

All of the sons except Patrick had emigrated to Broxburn in West Lothian,
Scotland, in the 1880s to work as shale miners during the oil boom there.
Patrick's whereabouts were a mystery. A cousin in Scotland had pointed me to
a ship record showing that James and Neal had visited their brother Patrick
in Bayonne, New Jersey, in 1911. Both had come over from Scotland seeking
work in the oil industry but were unsuccessful and returned to Scotland. No
one in the family I spoke with knew anything about Patrick, and some even
doubted his existence.
This seemed odd especially since he was Denis's twin and all the other
brothers had lived so close together.

In November 2007 I received a response to my query from Bruce Boyle in
Vermont, who said he believed that his grandfather was the missing Patrick
Boyle. He knew little about his grandfather except through research his
cousins and his brother Greg had done. Patrick had died in 1922, and there
was no one in the family who could substantiate his identity. Indeed, his
true identity was the obstacle to establishing a connection. Family lore
held that Patrick had enlisted in the British forces at 16 and had come to
the United States to escape something no one knows. He jumped ship upon
entering the United States, some time around 1888. Between then and 1895,
when he married Cecelia O'Boyle of Burtonport, Co. Donegal, not much is
known.

Research indicated that because he had entered the country illegally,
Patrick either falsified or bought the naturalization record of another
Patrick Boyle, who lived in Mauch Chunk, Pennsylvania. Mauch Chunk is
significant as it was the home of the Molly Maguires, a secret Irish
Republican order affiliated with the Ancient Order of Hibernians. The Molly
Maguires were heavily active in Co. Donegal, so it is possible Patrick was
smuggled into the country and "legalized"
through this network.

For the past year, Bruce, his brother Greg, and I have been trying to find a
single piece of information that might establish the link between our
families. Until recently, Patrick's exact death date was unknown. Through
the help of a New Jersey archivist, the brothers located Patrick's obituary
and subsequently ordered his death certificate from the state. Listed as
Patrick's parents were John Boyle and Mary O'Donnell, the names of my
great-great grandparents.
Bruce and Greg and I have now confirmed that we are second cousins, once
removed, and at least part of the mystery of Patrick Boyle has been solved.
