Am looking for information on Gottfried (Godfrey) and Wilhelmine (Minnie) Seefeldt Merkle/Merkel. Gottfried b. Germany abt. 1845, immigrated to USA in 1851, first going to Kentucky, then to Watertown, WI. After marrying in the mid 1860's moved to Chicago, Ill area. Moving on to South Haven Geneva Twnshp, Van Buren County, Michigan, in the later, 1890's and remaining there.He died between 1910-and before 1920. Farmers. Wilhelmine Seefeldt Merkle born in 1844 in Pommern area. Immigrated to USA in 1857 with parents and siblings. Lived in Hustisford, WI. Married Gottfried Merkle. Died in South Haven, Mi. after 1920. They had 7 children, all born in Illinois. 5 Survived to adulthood.Any help would be greatly appreciated. They had a son, Godfrey H. Merkle who married Ellen Trowbridge, and a daughter Grace Margaret who married Silas Trowbridge, all of South Haven. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
