Query Text: |
Looking for the origins of ANDREW HENLEY who married MARY LANGFORD in Woburn, Bedfordshire on 21 August 1733. No trace of any Henley in Woburn before this marriage (though I have established relationships with all Woburn Henleys born after that date). His surname is recorded in the parish register as 'Endley', and also the surname of his children, but after 1755 all were recorded as 'Henley' or 'Henly'. We don't know Andrew's occupation. His grandson William (my gggg-father) was an upholsterer, and other descendants included labourers, gardeners, and the Duke of Bedford's watchman. It is possible that Andrew was also an employee of the Duke of Bedford and was brought to Woburn from another estate elsewhere in England. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
