I am searching for any information on Henry Mackenzie who died at age 36 in 1913-1914 as a result of a head injury caused by a broken boom of the vessel he was piloting at the time of the Princess Bay Munitions explosion in New York Harbor. He was my great grandfather; he was married to Lillian Mable Posey; their children were Henry (Harry) Mackenzie (who died as a result of an accident while he was doing mechanic work on a plane)and Ethel Cecilia Mackenzie (born in 1901 in Brooklyn, New York, and died on 4/20/1992. Henry Mackenzie, my grt. grandfather, earned his pilots license when he was only 21 years of age; he was very skilled captain of the seas and brought back the first, intact, chandelier from mainland China and many other novelties. His brothers, Gus and Frank Mackenzie, owned ships which brought fresh water to incoming vessels traveling across the Atlantic Ocean. I remember my mother showing me documents which stated that Henry Mackenzie is buried in St. Paul's Cemetary in New York. There was a son born to Harry Mackenzie, my grandmother Ethel's older brother and his name is/was Kenneth. He married a woman name Gail and they had a daughter named Cheryl. If any of this is familiar to any of the readers, please contact me at geodejetter@hotmail.com And Thanks! Diane Thomas | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
