Looking for information on LEONARD SINGLETON, dob:abt 1836, TN. Married MARILDA GAWF(GOFF) Oct 11, 1852 in Henderson co, TN, daughter of EDMOND and Jane GAWF (GOFF). LEONARD SINGLETON in 1860 was living next door to STERLING SINGLETON, age41, b:NC, wife SUSANNAH and daughter SARAH C, who I believe married ROBERT McCORMACK.There was a REBECCA SINGLETON probably a niece living with Leonard, wife MARILDA and children. Leonard Singleton enlisted in the Civil war Sept 1, 1863, 7th regiment, Tenn union calvary, coK. Leonard Singleton died in Annapolis Md after being admitted at W. Division General Hospital there for Chronic diarrhea on Dec 13, 1864. Leonard Singleton and Marilda Gawf(Goff) children were: 1)RobertH. Singleton, b:Oct 9, 1856 2)Mary A. Singleton, b:June 4, 1859 3) James Singleton , b:Feb 28, 1863 Marilda Goff's father, Edmond Goff took guardianship of the children in 1869 and Marilda remarried to a JOSHUA POOL on Feb of 1868.
