I am looking for information on John McMahon who went to the U.S. in about 1849 from somewhere in Ireland. Have his parents as Edmund McMahon and Mary McSweeney. Information is from a Civil War biography. He settled in Maine, married Hannah Cunningham, who also came from Ireland (with cousins James and Bridget(McGrath)Cunningham in about 1850. John's brother, Patrick also came to Maine. They went to Wisconsin, and both John and Patrick served in Civil War. John, Hannah, and Patrick (married Mary Moonan) all died in Wisconsin. Have births as:John about 1829, Patrick about 1836, and Hannah about 1834. Have not been able to determine where in Ireland they all came from. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
