My 2nd great-grandmother was Mary Frances Haynes b. 1856. She married Calvin A. Beard. He died in 1900. Three or four years later, she apparently married an R. Salter. I never found him on the census records. He died probably around 1920. When Mary Francis died in 1956 (one week shy of her 100th birthday), her obituary called her Mary F. McDonald. There was no husband listed as a survivor so she apparently outlived all three of her husbands. During her lifetime, she lived in Jasper county, Angelina County, Tyler county, and died in Hardin county. Does this sound familiar to anyone? My mother and her sisters referred to her as "Granny B." and didn't know that she had remarried. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
