I'm looking for descendants of Bernard Nunn,Acting Resident of Malacca,Malaysia from(26 Jul 1918 - 27 Aug 1918/5 Mar 1919 - 21 Jun 1919). He was born in 1876.Son of Canon Henry Drury Cust Nunn & Elizabeth Mary Francis.Educated at Edward's School,Oxford.Classical Exhibr. 2nd Class,B.A. in 1907.He was the 771st boy ever to enter St. Edward's in 1890, on a Classical Scholarship. He rapidly rose in the school and was in the Classical Sixth (under Millington Sing) for three years. Not an outstanding sportsman he nonetheless enjoyed games, rowing and especially athletics. He left the school in 1895 and went up to Caius, Cambridge where he passed Mods and Greats with Honours. Senoir District Officer in Province Wellesley,Penang in 1922.During the Great War he was a member of the Colonial Defence Services. In 1926 he returned to his native Yorkshire living at Galphay near Ripon.He was a president of Galphay Institute until 1949. There, even though in retirement, he was a Justice of the Peace 'for the liberty of Ripon and also for the County of West Riding'.In the Second World War he was 'a popular amnd efficient commander of his Home Guard'.Died in 1949, Ripon,North Yorkshire.
