Need help finding information on Lucius Sterling/Starling Martin b 13 Nov 1850 SC. He died 6 March 1898 supposingly in Royston, Ga. His place of death was told in later years by his dau Lou Etta Martin Smith Otis who was 20 at the time of his death. The place of death wasn't written down in his son's journals like his death date was. The only census I've found: "1880 Centerville, Anderson Co SC census: L. Wife: Malinda Louisa "Lindy" King Martin b 2 June 1852 Belton, SC d 2 Jan 1923 Anderson, Anderson Co. SC Children: Carrie Elizabeth born 22 April 1878 SC wed J.Eli Clark, Sr Lou Etta b 13 Apr 1878 SC wed T.D.Smith and 2nd to Charlie Otis. Lucia Polly b 15 Feb 1880 SC died 20 June 1886 SC Nannie J. b 6 Dec 1881 SC wed a Mr Boggs where? Thomas Alonzo "Lon" b 1 June 1884 SC wed Ida M.Spires,Telfair Co.Ga He died 28 Dec 1923 in Columbia Co. Florida. [my grandfather] Hoping someone with info can help us. I know I'll never be able to go to Royston, Ga to look. Surely some offical at the time was told and it was written down in a record someplace. I don't know whether a funeral home was used or not, but I doubt his wife and daughters were able to dig his grave. Thank you for any help, Jeanette in Georgia | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
