Elizabeth (White) Job who was born December 11, 1849 in St. Ives, Cornwall. She married Thomas R. Job (born December 1, 1845 in Illogan, Cornwall, England) on December 12, 1867 in Rockland, Ontonagon County, Michigan. Thomas and Elizabeth had one son, William Thomas Job, who was born May 7 1869. Elizabeth was five months pregnant when tragedy struck. Her husband, Thomas, was killed in a mine explosion on November 15, 1870 at the Copper Falls Mine. On March 16, 1871, little Jane Job was born. Without a husband, I suspect life with two small children would have been very difficult. Elizabeth was also caring for three of her siblings at the time of her husband’s death (William, Hugh and Margaret White). Elizabeth died on July 28, 1872, cause of death and location unknown. I located Thomas and Elizabeth's graves in the Pine Grove Cemetery at Eagle Harbor, Michigan. I obtained the probate records for Elizabeth S. Job, and discovered Elizabeth's sister Mary and husband Nicholas Bray took in the children. I am looking for any links to both the Job and the White families. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
