Has anyone information about my grandfather called Charles Payet. Until recently he lived on the island Praslin. He was once married to a woman whose surname was Esther. They had 2 children, Walter (who died about 20 years ago from asthma) and a daughter who is my mother. She was adopted, and was given a new name Victory May Pearl (Esther). She was born in May 1943. Her mother was killed in a road accident outside a church in Mahé. She was cared for by a missionary called Grace Durope. She came to England when she was 18. She has several half siblings that have the surname Payet, however they have all emigrated to Australia. I would be very grateful if anyone could shed any light on my mother's history.
