Query Text: |
My name is Suzanne Gereaux, and I am searching for the son I gave up for adoption in 1978. I lived in Roanoke,Virginia when I became pregnant. I was sent to Seton House, a home for unwed mothers in Richmond, Virginia, in June of 1978 and returned to Roanoke in September of 1978. My son, Sean Michael, was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia in August of 1978. I suffered from pre-eclampsia and had to have an emergency C-Section. Sean was in distress, and I was only able to hold him for a few minutes before he had to be flown to the local Children's Hospital because of breathing problems. He remained hospitalized for quite some time. He was placed for adoption through Catholic Charities in Roanoke, Virginia. Sean's father's last name is Grable. I have tried to establish a "confidential" contact with him through Catholic Charities of Roanoke, but his parents stated that I could have no contact, because I would "disrupt his life." Because he is 28 years old, I have no idea why his parents were able to make this decision for him, and I am hopeful that some day I will be able to hold him again, let him meet his wonderful half brother, and tell him how much I love him and how giving him up for adoption was the tragedy of my life. I am currently living in Missouri, but still have family in Virginia. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
