I am looking for the parents of John Reynolds. He lived in Lyme, Ct. and married Elizabeth Paige Wade in Lyme on Oct. 12, 1834. they had 9 children. The oldest, Cornelius Vanderbilt Reynolds, was born in 1835 or 1836. My father told me that we are related to a Vanderbilt that lost his fortune and changed his name. I am looking for this Vanderbilt connection. Elizabeth (Betsy) was born in Lyme, Ct. I can not find any birth place for John. John died Nov.7,1861 from a broken neck as result of a fall off a cart.
