Aloha,My name is Curtiss K. Sumida. My great grandmother was Alice Cockett from Lahaina Maui,she was born around 1890 or so. She married Charley Aki on July 17,1907, they had childern one of them is my Grandmother Mary Puni Veronica Pai(maiden name Mary Aki),she was married to Joesph Bobby Pai , they live on Hauula Homestead Rd. area where I grew up. She had a two sons one named Gaberal Aki and Alexander K. Sumida. Iam trying to prove that we are fifty percent Hawaiian. The name Sumida is not the real name, but ,some how on record ,it shows, Alice Cockett(Mary Aki's mother ) as my father mother and Taneyohis Sumida as my dads father. We are all confused, and can not get Homestead Land due to this. Please, if anyone out there has documents to figure this out ,We would really appericiate your kokua.....Mahalo.
