David A. Strommen revdavidstrommen@sbcglobal.net FOLKESTAD, HALVORSON, HALVERSON, WAAGE Looking for any information and relatives to Rachel Folkestad who died Sept. 29, 1959 in Anoka Co.MN. It states also "alias" Halvorson. She was born Rakel Pedersdtr. Vaage or Waage in Selje parish, Nordfjord, Norway. Her parents were Peder and Kari (nee Rodberg) Waage who emigrated with all children in 1892, first to Iowa (Fertile, Forest City area in NC Iowa) then to Crookston, MN. Later the parents are in Mobridge SD. We believe her husband was Peder or Peter Folkestad, possibly from Thompson Iowa area. She was widowed we believe early. But Fertile Lutheran Church (Iowa) say that a Mr and Mrs Peter Folkestad had a girl Ida Belle in 1908. Any help would be great.
