OK, this is confusing. I need ANY information about a woman whose married name, when she died, was Maude Dunn. I have conflicting evidence about whether Maude's maiden name was Reed or Cecil. She was born about 1871 in TN or KY. She died in Knoxville, TN in the 1960s. Her Certificate of Death says her maiden name was Reed. BUT, at the time of her first marriage, to Granville (or Fred) Davis, she went by the surname Cecil (not Reed). They had a daughter named Minnie Davis. Maude Dunn is also listed as a surviving sister of a woman named Alvertine Cecil Parker in that lady's obituary. In 1910, Maude was married to 2nd husband Samuel Carr/Karr and living in Whitley Co., KY. They had a young son named Oscar. Maude later divorced Samuel and Oscar, for some reason, adopted the surname Allen. By 1920, Maude was married to her final husband J. Walker Dunn. If anyone can help me sort out Maude's parentage and also the reason for her son Oscar's surname change I would be most grateful! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
