I am trying to locate the county where my husband's Ready family was from in Ireland. All records that I have say only "Ireland." The father was George Ready and his wife was Margery Kennedy Ready. They had 7 children, James, Maria, Charles, William, George, Jr., Jane and John Thomas. They immigrated to the U. S. in 1873 on the ship City of Brooklyn and settled near Scranton, PA in the town of Olyphant or Jessup. George and 4 of the sons worked in the coal mines there. One family member says that she remembers hearing that they were from County Mayo but I have not been able to locate them there. Any help would be appreciated. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
