Looking for anyone who has LANE that was in Scott Co, Missouri or surrounding Counties from 1860 to 1940. I am trying to find the line of my GGgrandfather his name is William Henry LANE b.Jan 1858 in IL. PLEASE don't let the born Illinois throw you off! His parents may have just been their a short time and came from someplece else. I have been looking and posting and can't find one single person who connects to me. ;( Beside the census years 1900 - 1930 in Hiram Cowan Township,Wayne Co,MO. and his obit that's the only info or clues I have on him. So if your searching LANE please think of me. His death certificate shows his parents are John LANE and Elizabeth PERRYJIM. April 1937 WILLIAM LANE William Henry Lane was born in Illinois, Jan 15,1858 and passed away at his home in Hiram, MO. March 28, 1937 at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 13 days. He came to Missouri when a small boy and spent his early years near Diehlstadt, and come to Wayne County in early manhood. He was first married to Elzora Pugh who precceded him in death. To this union were born four children, two boys and two girls, all of them but one has passed on. He is survived to mourn his departure by the widow, Mrs. Rose Lane; one son W.W. Lane of St.Louis, MO. he was a member of the Hiarm Missionary Baptist Church for 20 years and never failed to attend when able.
