I am desperately searching for information about my great-grandmother, Mathilda Bourgeois. From what I can gather, she was a French-Acadian from the Cape Breton, Nova Scotia area, possibly around Sydney. I have searched the censuses, but have found nothing. I believe she may have been born in the 1890s or early 1900s. Because she was French and married a person who spoke only English, Mathilda may not be her original name. Her surname may also have been Boudreau. She married Joseph Marshall, probably in the area of the 1920s, and died in c. 1960. Following her marriage, she mostly lived in Windsor, Nova Scotia.
