Query Text: |
our line begins with Captain George Little of Scotland settling in South Carolina, raising his family with his Scottish wife Mary, serving in the American Revolution and he remarried to a Mary Handley Douglas once both were widowed but I do not see that he had any children with Douglas. He named one of his sons Jonas who married his stepsister Betsy Douglas and had our Hiram Lucius Little. Hiram married Catherine Wright, daughter of Catherine Weatherford and John Wright; all found on Kentucky census records in Shepherdsville, Bullitt, Kentucky. Hiram had a son named John Wright Little who married Catherine Crigler, a daughter of Crigler and Roby. Hiram's brother Douglas Little married Martha Wright, sister of Catherine Wright. Martha named a son Lucius Powhatan Little. L P's daughter Laura took their stories and researched this line, indicating that Chief Powhatan had a daughter Cleopatra that this Little line connects to. Laura also joined the DAR and had a monument placed in Kentucky in honor of Captain George Little's service in the Revolutionary War, according to old newspaper articles. Can anyone send me a picture of that monument? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
