Seeking info about Levi or Levy Pate, born abt 1790, some researchers say born in North Carolina or Virginia. First found in Kershaw County, South Carolina 1820 Census records. Need to find any info about birth info, parents or siblings or where he originated. His first wife was Sarah "Sally" Clyburn, born abt 1785, born in Va?, they had 4 sons, James, born 1817, Levi, Jr., born abt 1823, Henry, born abt ?, Chapman. born abt ? and two daughters, Rebecca and Sarah who were both married to Ervin Raley of Buffallo Plantation, Kershaw County, South Carolina. Levi, Sr., according to 1870 Kershaw County, South Carolina had a 2nd wife, Gatsey Robinson. Levi was 80 at this time and Gatsey was 28, they had two sons, Jesse aborn abt 1866 and William born about 1879. Levi, Sr. died appx 1878-1879. Did find a Levi Pate and Elizabeth Finney who married in 1785 in Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts from AncestryPlus, these were some church records. I am thinking could this be the parents of the Levi Pate, born 1790. Could they have married and moved to Va or Nc and Levi in 1790? If anyone has any info, please e-mail me.
