I'm looking for anyone who may be related to John Pickering and Amelia Butler. John was born 1803 Lower Darwen, Lan. Eng. Amelia 1811 SSx Kent, Eng. They had 7 children, Richard, Martha, Robert,Danial, Ralph, Amelia, and Mary Jane. There are 2 other children, listed in the census, Peter and Octavius Pickering, who I believe are John's children from a previous marriage. Peter b. 1825 m. Ann Bury. Octavius m. Mary Ann Ratcliff, and had 3 children, Martha Octvaius and Mary. Richard m. Mary Shorrock and had 10 children, John, Ralph, Danial, Robert, Amelia, Sarah, Richard, Nancy, Mary and Richard, (first Richard d. young.) this is my line. Robert and Danial Sr.'s died before 1861. They were all from the Blackburn Lan. Eng. area. My line was decended form Robert Pickering Jr. b. 1862 Darwin Lan. he married Jane Higgins in 1886, in Canterbury Kent, they had 4 children, Robert, Mary Jane (Polly), Richard and Ralph. Robert, b. 1862 was apparently killed in some kind of coach accident, in the 1920's ?? Robert b. 1888, Mary Jane b. 1890, Richard in 1894, and Ralph in 1896, Lan. Robert, b. 1888, m. Martha Alby Wells and moved to Canada, in 1912, his middle name was Ditchfield, and he gave this name to 2 of his sons, I believe that it could be the last name of one of the wives.
