Hi can anyone out them help me I am trying trace my mother's family Yang from Suzchou my mother left China in the 1930s My mother never spoke about her childhood and the only thing she ever said was that her grandparents were farmers something to do with silkworms. Her father was a manservant/doorman / butler helping a rich family. Her elder sister also did the same as her grandparents. She also had a younger brother, unfortunately I do not know their names. I think my mother was about 15 or 17 years old when she was employed by this rich family who brought her to London enoute to USA in the 1930s and left her at the Chinese Embassy where she met my father Chong (originally from Canton) who was a employed as a cook, they were married at the Embassy. I visited Suzhou in 2005 met a TV reporter and recorded a 10 minute interview unfortunately this not produce any leads | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
