CARMONA | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Query Text: |
My name is Naomi Carmona, my father came from Cuba in the 1955. I was always taught that my family had originally been Jews and in the Despersion some had fled to Spain and begun a town of vineyards (Carmona meaning Tender of the Vine), adding an -A to the original Carmons). The Spanish Inquisition racked the Jewish Carmonas, and three times in this period, the town was devastated. And each time, it was built back up, to become the charming wine spot it is now. Eventually, Carmonas emigrated to Cuba, where my father came in. Moved to California. I am looking for anyone related to me, maybe in Spain, that has tracked their geneaology and has this related possibility. Just, fascinating. Thanks! Oh, I live in Hawaii now. Carmonas scattered across the world in my family. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
