Does anybody have information on Martin Laabs of Arnsberg near Treptow, kreis Greifenberg, Pommern, in present day Poland? According to the church records at Triebs,he was married on 5 Nov 1824 to Wilhelmine Caroling Pagel, so I would guess his birthdate as between 1780 and 1810. They had a son, Friedrich, who married Dorothea Hafermann and they emigrated to the USA, settling in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Their son, Otto, married and had a daughter, Esther, who married and had a son David (myself). I suspect Martin moved to Arnsberg from somewhere else in Germany or Prussia, but have had no luck on that location or date. I know there was a large migration from Baden-Wuertemburg during that time, but also from other areas as well. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
