MILLER-MINTON-LANCASTER******Hopkins County Texas I am searching for my Miller kin who lived in Hopkins County Texas from the 1850's until 1915. I feel sure there are descendant/cousins there. My ggf Samuel Joseph Douglas Miller was born Jan. 10, 1861. I believe his father was Martin Miller who was born about 1840. S.J.D.'s mother's maiden name was Martha Minton, a daughter of Jonathan Minton, from Davies County/Owensboro, KY. Martha was first married to a Lancaster and had two sons Lum and Lem. They left Hopkins County via Erath County and then headed west for Motley County. Her Miller infants were farmed out to family members in Hopkins County to raise. SJD's father was possibly Marion Miller??? Since SJD was born in 1861 and orphaned I an haunted that his father was killed during the war??? SJD married Mary Alice Martin from Polk County Arkansas. The young family first lived in Parker County and finally settled in the Fair View2 Community of Hood County where they are buried. All information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and Bless you!
