Searching for my birth family esp. mother or father. I was born in Jewish Memorial Hospital New York on July 23 1954. I was given the name TONY BRENNAN although my fathers' name was supposedly TONY RIVERS. I even went to public school with that name and didn't change it till I was legally adopted. I have an older brother(only about a yr older) named Daniel and his father is not listed on his birth Certificate the same as mine. We were placed thru the N.Y. foster care system although I am not sure how long after my birth this occured? We were in many foster homes most I don't recall however one I do recall riding the Staten Island Ferry when I was about 5 years old, to a place that was like an old farmhouse with an older couple who had a daughter named Ellen and her brother I think named Tom or John...they were both a bit older than my brother and I. I have thought in years since that perhaps they might have been extended birth family. (cousins?)Eventually we were placed by New York state in St. Christophers School Inc. near Dobbs Ferry(which is still around) and then finally with my fosterparents named LIVERMORE who eventually were granted adoption of us.My foster/adoptive dad was a N.Y. policeman named Daniel Livermore and my foster/adopted mom is named Patricia Livermore. By the time the Livermores were finally granted adoption of us I was a teen ager.And not before we had been bounced back to St. Chris's again... I don't want to make any trouble for anyone. I just would like to know my genetic and medical history and perhaps find out WHY? and come to terms with it all. I am 5'11'' and have dark thick hair and I have been told I look Italian/Portugese or perhaps Puerto Rican? Since Jewish Memorial Hospital is where I was born I may even be Of Jewish decent? Some say I look Irish...Perhaps half Irish? my brother Daniel actually looks more Native American than anything... My foster mom says she heard thru the system that my father on my birth cert, named TONY RIVERS was perhaps a preachers son and my birth mom a servant and they were not married so it was a scandal in 1954 and that is when we were given up...It is a mystery I would like to solve one day very soon.
