I am a student in England researching my Irish roots. I am currently looking for a MARY ANN OWENS, daughter of a BERNARD OWENS and ELIZA FOX. Relatives tell me that Mary Ann was born in Co. Armagh, but her siblings were registered in Co. Down (Downpatrick) and Clonavaddy, Dungannon, in Co. Tyrone. BERNARD OWENS was a FARM LABOURER and also a SCHOOL JANITOR, in either Armagh, Down, or Tyrone. I realise info is scarce here, but I would appreciate any help. If it helps, BERNARD'S FATHER WAS CALLED RICHARD OWENS. ELIZA FOX'S MOTHER WAS ALSO CALLED ELIZA. SHE MARRIED A JOHN OR WILLIAM FOX, AND HER MAIDEN NAME WAS DOCHERTY. Mary Ann left Northern Ireland between 1879-1884, for SCOTLAND. She settled in Lanarkshire, in firstly Glasgow, and then Holytown, near Motherwell. Ant help very much welcomed Also, Mary Ann had brothers called: PETER OWENS BORN JANUARY 26 1865, 0558 CLONAVADDY, TYRONE (appreciate it if you could tell me what 0558 means) PETER OWENS BORN NOVEMBER 25 1869, DOWN JOSEPH OWENS BORN DECEMBER 27 1879, DOWNPATRICK Mary Ann also had sister called Ellen, Elizabeth and Catherine. I dont known there dates of birth. Mary Ann was born around 1860-65. The family were Catholics, so because she was born before 1864, her birth wont be registered, but Im having a really hard time finding her baptism certifcate. That's all I have.
