Query Text: |
I am looking for any information regarding ancestry of William Thomas Wright who was born March 30, 1847 in Brownsburg, Rockbridge County Virginia. He was a schoolteacher, moved to Indiana and was later Deputy County Clerk for Clinton County, Indiana (1880)and also for Montgomery County, Crawfordsville, Indiana. He was married twice. First wife was Amanda Epperson of Putman Co., Indiana. He married his second wife, Sarah M. Galloway, September 1, 1891 in Mace, Indiana. He belonged to a fraternal order called the Tribe of Ben Hur in Crawfordsville, Indiana. I have in my possession 32 letters written to a Lamar Fontaine, Civil Engineer of Lyon, Mississippi. These letters date from 1911 to 1925. It appears from the content of the letters, Lamar Fontaine was a Confederate soldier of the Civil War. I would very much like to find if the Fontaine family have the letters my Great Grandfather, William Thomas Wright wrote to Lamar Fontaine. I would be willing to exchange them. It would give insight into my great grandfathers mind & heart. I do not know how these two men became accquainted, but it appears they shared the same thoughts concerning the Civil War. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
