I am trying to find the birthplace of my paternal great-grandfather. His name was John Patchell. Born in 1840. Died in Cork 17/3/1890. He was a member of the Church Of Ireland. He worked as a stationmaster in Little Island in Cork. His wife was Sarah. They had two daughters, Ellen (my grandmother) and Sarah who was drowned in the sinking of the "Leinster" in 1918. He was probably from Carlow, but I have been unable to ascertain this. Any information would be very gratefully appreciated.
