My Deney lines seem to appear in the western part of NY in the area of Oneida, Oswego and Jefferson counties. John Dana/Deney was first found on a 1835 Census with his wife Luzette MacGnot/McNitt. He was born between 1814-1816. His parents are unknown. His first born son was Chandler, 2nd child Melissa and 3rd Edgar. All three children spelt their last name differently. Denney, Denny, Dany, Dana and Deney.(which survives today).
