He married Elizabeth Jess(b. ca.1745,North Kingston,RI; d. 1825,Parrsboro,NS),daughter of Joseph Jess(b. ca.1725,Belfast,Ireland; d.1791,Lakelands,NS)and Martha Haxton(b. ca.1717,North Kingstown,RI; d. ca.1789,Falmouth,NS)and settled in Falmouth, NS.
