Query Text: |
I am researching my ancestor Robert NIXON who drowned on a troop ship in Chesapeake Bay, Calvert Co., MD coming home from the Civil War (home was probably Fitzwilliam, Cheshire Co., NH). His wife Ann (surname unknown) and 2 daughters moved to Portland, Multnomah Co., OR after his death, where Ann started a dress- and hat-making shop. One daughter Elizabeth “Lizzie” NIXON married James T. BARRON on 21 July 1890 in Portland, Multnomah Co., OR. The other daughter Mary, married Judge J.G. MUNLY. I have information about the BARRON line (my ancestors) and some about the MUNLY line but not much about the NIXON line. I’m happy to share what I have.
