I am just getting started and seeking any information on the Liles genealogy. I can go back as far as Lemuel Liles, lisle, lyles, born 1777/79 in North Carolina. His parents reportedly immigrated from Virginia and his father or grand father was a lieutenant in the American Revolution. He married Hannah Duringer Derringer(native of Penn.) and eventually moved to Ross County, Ohio. He fought in the War of 1812., and lived a short time in Tennessee prior to that. Eventually he migrated to Ohio and settled in Logan Ohio. His son, for which I am a descendent, was Isaiah Liles, born May 27 1818 in Chillicothe, Ohio and married Catharine Young. His Son, Joseph Aaron Liles was my great, grandfather, who was in the Civil War (I have his original "mustering out" papers from Fort Dennison (Cinn., Ohio). I have more detail, but need help finding Lemuel's parents or siblings. Any suggestions for a neophyte? Joel Liles Marion, Ohio | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
