I am seeking for family members of my grand-grandmother Johanna Rieß, born 1867 in Schlochau (Pommern, now Poland). I know, she had 3 brothers: Jacob, Samuel and Karl. Jacob emigrated to Philadelphia in 1903. His wife was Henriette, his children Bertha and Karl. They lived in Philadelphia, North 17th Street. Their son Karl later in the Ogontz Ave. I do have a picture showing my grandfather Kurt Schaefer together with his cousin Karl in front of Karl's house in the Ogontz Ave. I would like to learn to know any further/later member of this part of the Reese/Rieß family, because I know, that the German family members ended in the Concentration Camps of the NAZIs. Maybe someone knows about their fate. My father and his brothers do not know anything about it. Currently I was in Auschwitz, and their I felt: I must know more about my grand-grandmother and the other Rieß-family members. Thanks! 22 Oct 2008 Meanwhile I am pretty sure that Carl Riess I have found in the Yad Vashem data base must have been one of the brothers: he was born 16.06.1874 in Schlochau, lived in Berlin and was deported on 18.03.43 (I/90) to Terezin, and on 18.12.1943 (Ds) to Auschwitz camp where he died. Maybe there is anyone being able to verify my search? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
