Seeking more info.Abram b.1830 Bathgate, Linlithgowshire,Sc'(may be abbrev'Abraham) Crawford,Emigrated Melb 1857. had 1st emporium Ballarat 25yrs(now myer store-Crawford & co building, sold to Room & Snow 1878),later store in Flinders St & Chappel St Pahran, m. Charlotte Wood-Burr(died), remarried Margaret Glendinning.total 14 children,owned "Kiora" Brighton. I am actually seeking the parents of his father Robert Crawford(b.Bathgate, Scotland.d.1880 in Ballarat.m.Ellen Spiers d.1860,10 children,m.Anna Smallman d.1901 Castlemaine,Vic),who built St Kilda line(contract/engineer) & imported 1st steam engine from scotland,went to open pastrol land in orange district.hoping for more on b,d,m dates & ancestry from Crawford Priory, Fife, scotland. Also another area of research,Abram's son Glendinning(mum's father) served in the Boar War attached to Marquess of Tullibardines 2nd Scottish Horse.My mother(in 80's now)grew up being told the Marquess was her fathers uncle(sometimes older cousins or family friends were described as uncles) & has many photos of the Marquess, in all my research even in different generations I have not yet been able to find the Crawford/Murray link.
