Query Text: |
Margaret MEAGHER married Daniel A DIXON/DICKSON in 1873 and possibly in St Albans, VT. Daniel was definitely born on 14 MAR 1849 in Cornwall, Glengarry Co, Ontario, Canada. However, I have a Vermont Marriage Certificate with the names Margaret MEAGHER and Daniel A DIXON which shows Margaret's father as "James MEAGHER" and her mother as "Margaret O'DONNEL" (note the single "L" at the end of "O'DONNEL"). This is the first I have found that Margaret MEAGHER DIXON was in the US before living with one of her sons, Clement, briefly having been noted on the 1930 US Federal Census in Springfield, Hampden Co, Massachusetts. Her son Clement, who spelled the surname as "DICKSON" had four children the oldest of which was my mother, Beatrice A DICKSON who married my father, Henry D ROBISON. I have found the surname MEAGHER misrepresented as "McAGHER" in some data bases. Can anyone shed any additional light on this information? Daniel and Margaret DIXON were my 2nd ggrandparents. Information regarding Margaret has been very difficult to find! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
