I am the great-grandson of George Mead, b Jul 1894 from Owsley Co., Kentucky. He had an illegitimate son with Era Ledford (b 1895, Owsley Co., Kentucky) b 17 Feb 1916 named Jessie Ledford. Jessie's name was changed to Wallace Wilson on a birth certificate that was re-done in 1942. George Mead was the son of James Mead (abt. 1855, Kentucky) and Mary (b Mar 1851, Kentucky) who both said their parents came from Virginia. I am searching for the full reach of my true surname.
