I am trying to find out more about my ancestors. I have quite a complete record of all my ancestors since their arrival in South Africa, but no information at all about my ancestry before South Africa. The only information I can supply is that my South African ancestor was Charles Allen, born in Londonderry in 1791, and possibly christianed in 1793. He arrived in Table Bay (Cape Town, South Africa) from Mauritius aboard the ship "Johanna Henrica" on 6 Apr 1815. I would like to know the details of his parents, their religion, his brothers/sisters if any, and what type of occupations they all had. If it is available, then also his grandparents etc. It seems Charles Allen was an auctioneer, but I have no information if that was also his occupation before he left Ireland. Any information will be greatly appreciated, even if it is only to point me in the right direction, or to the right source. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
