Maybe we could share family information. My maiden last name is Matson. I believe mose of my ancestors came from the Oulu, Finland area on my Father's side and the Rouaniemi, Finland area on my Mother's side. Below are family names and some dates. FATHER'S SIDE OF MY FAMILY Christer Thomas Kahkonen born 17Feb1733 married Carin Matthia born 1726 -- their son below Christer Kahkonen (son of Christer Thomas) born 13Feb1757 married Margeta Johns Heikitar born 24May1756 ---their son below Johan Kahkonen born 20Mar1784 married Christinee Pulkitar born 3Feb1786 ----their son below Matt Kahkonen born 22Feb1817 married Anna Keranen born 23Jan1827 ----their son below John Kahkonen Matson born 20Jan1850 married Maria Ida Ohtonen born 7July1850 > John and Maria married 2Dec 1873- had 3 children and emigrated to the US where they had 7 more children. I would appreciate any help you could give, or information. Unfortunately I do not speak or understand Finnish. Did when I was a child but the language is not used much in my home area. I'm afraid I've lost 99% of it.
