IS THEIR ANYONE WHO KNOWS OF JAMES & ELIZA POOL OF ASPATRIA, CUMBERLAND OR THEIR CHILDREN ROBERT, ELIZA, WILLIAM, LOUDEN, NANNY, JAMES, MILLER OR THOMAS POOL/POOLE & JOHN THOMPSON - MARRIAGES MESSENGER, FLETCHER, DOVER, GRAVES, SPARK, TIFFIN, BOUCH, HILTON & TOMKIN!! I am seeking information about my 3gr grandparents JAMES POOL & ELIZA(nee Louden?) THOMPSON/POOL of Aspatria, Cumberland England. What I do know is that WILLIAM POOLE of Camerton,Cumberland mrd MARGARET THOMPSON in the late 1700's. They had one child that I know of, my 3gr grandfather JAMES POOL brn ard 1802 & baptized April 25, 1802 at Camerton. He mrd ELIZA THOMPSON, nee LOUDEN? ard 1830 possibly in Annan, Scotland. ELIZA THOMPSON possibly had a daughter from her first mrg but also a son named JOHN THOMPSON brn ard 1825 in Annan, Scotland died 1895 in Aspatria & he mrd ELIZABETH MESSENGER in 1868 & their children were ELIZA, MARY & JOHN WILLIAM THOMPSON. It appears that all three of their children died young before mrg or children? James & Eliza Pool then had a son named ROBERT POOL brn in Annan, Scotland died 1900 & he mrd HANNAH FLETCHER & their children were WILLIAM FLETCHER, JOHN JAMES & ELIZA HANNAH POOLE. Some time after Hannah Fletcher Poole’s death he mrd ISABELLA DOVER & they had no children. The family is then found in Aspatria Cumberland in 1841 where they would make their home. ELIZA POOL was brn 1834 in Aspatria. She died in 1866 at age 31, no mrg or children. WILLIAM POOL was brn 1835 in Aspatria & died 1883 at age 47 in Lancashire. He mrd ELEANOR GRAVES in 1856. Their children were THOMPSON, JAMES, ROBERT THOMAS, MILLER & LYDIA POOLE LOUDEN POOL (my gr gr grandfather) was brn 1837 in Aspatria & died in 1916 at the age of 79. He mrd ANN SPARK of Edderside, Holme St Cuthbert. Their children were JANE, ANNIE (my gr grandmother), HENRY, MARGARET & JAMES LOUDEN POOL. Annie Pool & James Louden Pool were the only children to live, marry & have children. Annie Pool Reid immigrated to Canada & her brother James Louden Pool immigrated to the US. NANNY POOL was brn in 1839 at Aspatria & died in 1856 at the age of 17, no mrg or children. JAMES POOL brn in 1841. James mrd MARY TIFFIN & their children were ELIZA, RUTH, JOSEPH TIFFIN & MARY MAUD POOL. Mary Tiffin Pool died & James later mrd MARGARET BOUCH Their children were FREDERICK JAMES, NETA MAGGIE, JOHN SUMMERS & HENRY POOL MILLER POOL brn ard 1843 in Aspatria died in 1901at age 58 & he mrd MARY ANN HILTON they had no children. THOMAS POOL brn 1845 in Aspatria died 1876 in Lancashire mrd MARTHA TOMKIN in 1867 & their children were RICHARD JAMES & MAGGIE POOLE. All this information was found in the British records. With the exception of my direct ancestors, I know nothing else about the Pool/Poole family. Son, JOHN THOMPSON age 28 brn in Scotland, single occ/foreman to clog. Son, ROBERT POOL age 19 brn in Scotland, occ/apprentice to clog. Daughter, ELIZA POOL age 16 brn in Aspatria, occ/at home. Son, WILLIAM POOL age 15 brn in Aspatria, occ/ apprentice to tailor. Son, LOWDEN (LOUDEN) POOL age 13 brn in Aspatria, occ/errand boy. Daughter, NANNY POOL age 11 brn in Aspatria, scholar. Son, JAMES POOL age 10 brn in Aspatria, scholar. Son, MILLER POOL age 8 brn in Aspatria, scholar. Son, THOMAS POOL age 6 brn in Aspatria, scholar. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
