My gt.gt. grandmother Mary War Nan Johnson was born in new iberia in 1838. Her mother was named eliza and her fathers last name was Johnson. He was suppose to be a doctor and eliza was suppose to be the daughter of a plantation owner. According to family legend, eliza was of creole descent. for some reason she was disowned by her father. Eliza married Henry Callis and moved to Tennessee. Eliza died in 1859 TN. Mary Johnson married Elias Lassiter/laster (changed after the civil war ) died in 1918 in Tennessee. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
