Seeking Revolutionary War and ancestral information (parents, country of origin; their year of arrival in North America)for ASA JEFFREYS (early spelling variation on JEFFERS)(b. approx 1760; d. 1820, Carthage, Ohio.) He married Martha Patterson (b. 1755) in Pennsylvania in 1786. Martha was the sister of Mary Patterson, who Married Asa's friend Cornelius Vanderhoof (also spelled Vanderhoef, a veteran of the Contientnal Army and New Jersey state troops.) Asa Jeffreys and Martha Patterson had a son, William J. Jeffreys (b.Sept 16, 1786, Chester County, Pa., d.Dec. 2, 1871, Carthage, Ohio.)William later married Deborah Lawrence (b. NJ Dec. 18, 1783, d. April 29, 1862 in Ohio. The couple had a son, Asa William (Patterson) JEFFERS, (born Athens, Ohio, Dec.14, 1810, d. Dec. 31, 1899). I have virtually no information about ASA JEFFREYS, his parents, his origins, his Revolutionary war service. Any help in these areas would be appreciated.
