 BROOKS, MENDENHALL, SKILES, QUEER. Looking for Ellen Brooks b. 1869 Maryland, lived in Hamilton County, Nebraska 1880 11 years old, with mother, Mary QUEER BROOKS SKILES and step-father, Harmon SKILES. Mary's first husband was Samuel BROOKS. Mary and Harmon with Ellen moved to Rice County, Kansas about 1885. Her sister was Elizabeth BROOKS, b. 1859 in West Virgina, m. Benjamin Elzie MENDENHALL in York, Nebraska. Ellen may have returned to Nebraska and lived in Archer in 1912 with husband and adult daughter and a baby of hers or daughter's.
