Looking for background on Charles Moore, born 2 October 1799 at Leitrim, Ireland. He married Isabella Christian Cannell from the Isle of Man. Charles apparently was a drummer boy at the Battle of Waterloo and was a professional soldier. In 1847 he sailed with his family to New Zealand on the Ramillies as a Royal New Zealand Fencible to defend the settlers against the Maori.
