I am searching fro info on the whereabouts of JAMES TROTT born Somerset UK in 1829 and his two oldest sons JAMES, born 1858 and HARRY born 1859 in Bromley, London England. They are nowhere to be found in UK records after the 1861 census and there is rumour amongst Trott researchers that they emigrated to the USA. James fathered two other children, Walter and Albert- born 1861 and 1863, who were left with their mother, Mary Ann Trott (Nee Cottrell) in London - as listed in the 1871 census. This would imply that James left the UK between 1863 and 1871. James's wife is not listed as a widow until 1881 and one fellow researcher has advised me that James senior died in a hunting accident - although no evidence exists to substantiate this. James was a baker by trade - a family trade - and I have found one Harry Trott, a baker, living in a boarding house in Delavan, Walworth Wisconsin in the 1880 census and also a James Trott in Saint Charles, Kane Illinios, a baker - both of the right ages to be the sons but can find no trace of the residence or death of their father. If anyone would be able to provide any more info or search details, I would be incredibly grateful - especially if it results in new relatives being discovered as this man is my 'Brick Wall' and has been driving me nuts for over a year now! Many thanks Kathy | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
