Looking for historical information about Carroll, Iowa, USA. I received the following letter from the belongings of a Great Uncle, now deceased. Carroll, Iowa May 12th 1910 Mr. Frank J. Weis, Dayton Ohio. Dear Sir, I have received your letter of late. I am glad to do you the favor of finding out particulars regarding the late Mr. Jos. Wenzel. He died here in the Hospital of the Sisters, of which I am the chaplain. He has received the sacraments a number of times. The folks live about 30 miles from here. I have not found time as yet, but I assure you that I shall go there as soon as I can get off for a day and I shall find out for you all about the case without mentioning your name at all. But you must have a little patience, till I find time. I have a great deal of work here in the parish as well as for the Institutes. I shall let you know the exact result of my investigation. Yours truly Rev. Jos. Kuemper (I think?) I've tried the 1900 & 1910 census but have not been able to find a Wenzel family in the Carroll County area. We have never found a reply or any other information. Frank's mother's maiden name was Wenzel. Thank you for anything you can tell me.
