Query Text:

I am annotating letters written by a Union soldier in New Orleans in early 1863. He mentions a Brig. Gen. A. B. Farr. He may be from Masssachusetts. Anyone know anything about this Farr? He does not show up in many book indexes/texts. I have found an "Ambrose Farr" in the 1860 U.S. Federal Census, but I do not know if this is the same person.
