Hercules GOARD Born October 1878 Plymouth, England. Hercules visited South Africa about 1907 and eventually worked in a diamond mine in or near Pretoria. In 1907 his sister Louisa GOARD came from England and married an Ernest JAMES who also worked in the mines (possibly same one as Hercules)Louisa and Ernest got married in 1907 at Ivitwaters Lane(not sure of spelling), Polfield,Pretoria. Hercules is reported to have made several trips back to England, have found a reference to him on the NASA Database for 1929. I am trying to find more on his life in South Africa and where and when he died. Louisa stayed in S. Africa til about 1925 and after returning to England her husband Ernest died within a few weeks. Any information or documents on the names would be appreciated. 9/10/2009 Update.
