I am searching for information about my birth mother. I was born in Digby Nova Scotia , but the adoption was finalized outside the province. I had a search done from where the adoption was finalized ( not realizing that at the time , I had given up my rights to have a search done from here. N.S. ) The search ended rather disapointedly , I was told that my birth mother has passed away sometime in the mid to late '70's . I am trying to find out her name, although I am entitled by law to know the cause of death, I have not been granted that knowledge. Apparently on the file, it is stated that cause of death is private and confidentioal , so even in her death I am not able to find out what the cause of death was , she would have been in her mid to late 30's. I do know that I was babptized in Meteghan on the 15th-16th November 1959. (Catholic ) I do know that I had the names June -Louise Muise/Meuse given to me. I became a ward of the court in November of 1959, and was placed with a foster family for 3 months until my placement in February of 1960. What I do know of my Birth mother is this,I was told that she was born in 1943, she was the daughter of an unwed mother herself and she was placed with relatives ( Aunt and Uncle) when her mother did get married, she went back for her daughter ( my b.mom) and was denied because the relatives were being compensated by the government for looking after her. I would truly love to find out any information regarding her given name, her situation, or any morsel or tidbit offering me a chance at reclaiming what was rightfully mine in the first place, my identity. For those of you that have ever misplaced a set of keys and can't find them you know what it feels like, ......... well the same feeling applies to an adoptee, we know we have family out there , and we won't stop or rest until they are found.
